This blog makes it very difficult to upload photos so I am putting them on my Flickr account. Here's the link.... http://www.flickr.com/photos/30442672@N04/sets/72157620742312407/
VBS
Sorry for not staying in touch so much.... There is one building in town(10 miles away) that has wifi and now is the only time we've had to get to it.
We have had a very busy schedule including hiking Hadley Hill, swimming in the Sacandaga Lake, rock climbing, and of course preparing for and putting on their vacation bible school.
Monday was a great day. The kids that came were very excited to be there and they loved every minute of it. The second day, the number of kids rose to 26. Around here that is a great number. In fact that is the most kids Thurman Baptist has ever had at VBS! This made us very excited for day three...
Wednesday we taught the kids about Paul and Silas and they loved the story. Three kids accepted Jesus as their Savior that night and we could not have been happier.
Pastor Bob Herman has expressed so many times that he is very grateful that we are here. He is thankful for you allowing your teens to take time out of their summers to come help him and his ministry.
Thank you again for your prayers and support. This trip could not be a success without it.

On the way up.
An expected 13 hour trip turned into a 17 hour trip with a few unexpected hiccups. Just outside of baltimore the engine sputtered as we quickly ran out of gas then chuck maneuvered the bus to the shade on the shoulder of the highway. Then we waited for officer... excuse me Trooper Lowe where he called for a tow truck to bring us gas to make it to a gas station. That "hiccup" ended putting us back an hour and a half. To make a long story short the rest of the delays were from eating, bathroom, and gas stops that put is in Thurman by 10 pm. We got there unloaded our stuff got our sleeping situations down, and hit the sack. In the morning, we rose bright and early so that 26 of us could arrange shower time in one shower before 8am. After that our kind cook George prepared a feast of pancakes, sausage, and fruit for us. We then went to Sunday school which was taught to us by Pastor Bob while PJ Waller was teaching the adult Sunday school class. Church started at 11 and Pastor Chuck gave a good message on Psalm 39 challenging us to get closer to God and put away the unnecessary junk in our lives. While we were in church George was hard at work preparing our lunch. Which was sloppy joes and we conveniently renamed them sloppy George's. Today and tomorrow morning we will hard at work preparing our rooms and our hearts for VBS starting tomorrow night at 6:30 pm. Please pray for us as so many unexpected things have already come up with power going out the possibility of not having internet, and the inconvenience of the shower situation, and also pray for Matt Wilson as he is speaking tonight at Thurman Baptist Church and it is his first time speaking to a entire church congregation. We realize God is at work but Satan is also working as well. Thanks for all your support and future prayers.

Getting Ready
Testing...testing....
The Denbigh Baptist Church Youth Group Missions Team is one day away from finishing our VBS here at home. It has gone very well with kids getting saved! Everyone on the team is so excited and ready to get going to NY.
Thank you to everyone who has been praying for our upcoming missions trip. We look forward to what God has in store for us in the Adirondack Mountains.
